We are looking for a part time Digital Engagement Officer who is able to offer contracted support to the Royal Institute, working 7-10 hours per week, to ensure our digital marketing is delivered in a timely fashion and our events season is supported.
Key Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the role are to digitally publicise TRIP’s events and grant programmes, and to grow TRIP’s social media presence and online audiences. In more detail……
TRIP Marketing
- Develop a social media and marketing plan that appeals to, and supports, the many audiences of TRIP and which promotes our organisation’s ‘business as usual’ activities. For example, promoting our regular calendar of events and journal publications.
- Lead on the planning of online communications and marketing campaigns including the promotion of the Centenary years (2025 + 2026) of TRIP activities.
- Generate e-newsletter content to appeal to various stakeholder audiences, including our new membership audiences.
- Maintain and develop TRIP website pages and other digital tools.
- Produce audience response analysis and digital analytics, including recommendations for change.
- Monitor social media trends, news and emerging platforms to identify new opportunities.
Grant Programmes
- Agree with the Academic Director all marketing activity to support and deliver a successful programme of 19 lectures delivered across each academic year.
- Market all grant programmes managed by the Academic Director and Managing Director, including grant programmes for graduate students, schools and public programmes.
Other
- Work with the Academic Director and videographer to agree lecture and podcast content to the TRIP channels.
- Liaise with partners of TRIP to produce appropriate marketing materials and messaging.
- Contribute to the design and production of TRIP reports and accounts.
- Deliver marketing support to the Nayef Al-Rodhan annual book prize.
Requirements
- Experience in digital communications, preferably for a learned institute or similar with
a membership-based model. - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, able to present to a range of
audiences in an engaging yet concise manner. - Experience of tailoring messaging to varied audiences.
- Proficient in using social media management tools to influence and support growth plans.
- Experience in using Survey Monkey, Mail Chimp and Eventbrite platforms.
- Experience of managing and marketing events and campaigns
- Familiarity with WordPress or equivalent website design systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and timelines.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
- Degree in philosophy.
- Basic video editing skills to create and edit short videos for social media platforms.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and strategies.
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
- Experience of graphic design tools such as Canva.
- Experience of promoting print publications.
Terms & Conditions
- The role is to be offered on a self- employed, contracted basis, to be invoiced at an hourly rate.
- The role is offered with flexible working but ideally will be within commutable distance of London as the successful applicant will need to be available to work from the London office occasionally.
- There may be a requirement for the role holder to occasionally be available to support the Thursday evening lecture series in person, in London.
- The role comes with an expectation that should more (or less) hours be required; flexibility is available.
