Thoughtful Annual Conference 2025

The University of South Wales, Newport Campus is the setting for a day of talks, workshops and conversation about philosophical education in all its forms from P4C with very young children and with learners with special educational needs, philosophical approaches to teaching literature and languages, the importance of dialogue for those educated at home and in hospital, and philosophical enquiry in teacher education.

With time to meet and talk to colleagues and a rich programme of theory, research, and practical tips, there’s something for everyone who values dialogue and enquiry. Find the full programme here and book tickets here:  https://www.sapere.org.uk/conference-2025/

Thanks to funding from The Royal Institute of Philosophy (TRIP), ticket prices are frozen tickets at the super early bird rate of £70. Thoughtful will also offer bursaries to more P4C practitioners than ever before. Please apply here for a bursary the end of October, if you need one.

You can join online for £30.

Thoughtful are also holding a pre-conference event: a live P4C demonstration and discussion on Friday 14 November 14.00 – 16.30 (the afternoon before the conference). The live demo will feature two of the charity’s Gold Award Schools,  Ysgol Panteg, a Welsh-medium primary school in Griffithstown Pontypool and The John Frost School, a comprehensive in Newport. All in-person ticket holders are welcome to attend the pre-conference event at no extra charge but must register to attend.
