Postgrad Conference Funding
The Royal Institute of Philosophy Postgraduate Conference Funding
The Royal Institute of Philosophy will offer sponsorship of up to £2,500 for postgraduate conferences hosted by university departments of philosophy. Prospective postgraduate organisers are now invited to submit proposals for conferences in 2017 and 2018.
Proposals should be sent to Dr. James Garvey at The Royal Institute of Philosophy, 14 Gordon Square, London WC1H 0AR or firstname.lastname@example.org to arrive no later than 31 August. The Institute’s Conference Committee would wish to make a choice of venues as soon as possible after that date. In coming to a decision, the committee will have regard to previous locations and topics as well as the suitability of the topic proposed for laypeople and professional philosophers alike. When making a proposal, please indicate whether it would be for 2017 or 2018 or whether either year would be possible.
Proposals should include some consideration of the approach taken to the topic and a list of potential speakers, including those who have agreed in principle to take part, as well as some idea of the subject or title of their lecture, if possible. Provisional costs should also be included. We would expect some endorsement and oversight from at least one member of the relevant department as well.
