Philosophy at the Idler Academy
Two courses, the first on ancient philosophy and the second on modern philosophy, will soon be starting at The Idler Academy in London. The author and teacher Dr. Mark Vernon teaches the Monday evening seminars, beginning on 13 May 2013.
What was so unsettling about meeting Socrates? Why would you want to be a Stoic? How did Descartes radicalise the philosophical agenda? What is philosophy? These questions and more will be explored. The aim is to learn not just what different philosophers have argued, but how these rich traditions can be resources for us.
